Created in 2005 as a joint venture of the National Center for State Courts and the Law School, the Election Law Program seeks to provide practical assistance to state court judges in the United States who are called upon to resolve difficult election law disputes.

Externships provide valuable opportunities to enhance professional skills and to learn about employment options and work environment. The Director of the Externship Program and Office of Career Planning and Placement has a wide variety of placement suggestions for students who have not made their own arrangements. Each hour of credit requires 40 hours of unpaid work. A student may not earn Externship credit by working for an organization or individual from whom he or she has received pay.
